Pianist & Arranger
Saptak, a gen-next young Pianist/Keyboardist, hails from a family of Gharanedar (Traditional) musicians having his grandfather, Ustad Golam Emam of Agra Gharana. He started his initial training and his father, Amzad Hossain, one of the most prominent Sitar-players of the Etawah Gharana Vilayatkhani Baaz, as his mentors. From a very tender age, he has shown a keen interest in Western Classical as well as Hindustani (North Indian) Classical Music. He has grown up in an atmosphere where music has been judged and appreciated not by its genre but by its quality. Thus from the very inception, he has been parallelly exposed to music from both sides of the world ranging from Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin to Ustad Vilayat Khan, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Ustad Amir Khan among other stalwarts. His very special and soft touch on the keys establishes him as the youngest member of the popular classical band Satrangee. A bright student academically as well, Saptak likes to spend as much time as he can with music besides his education.
